Toprak Razgatlioglu secured pole position for the first race and the Superpole race of the Misano round in the World Superbike Championship this Saturday, setting a new lap record at the Italian circuit.
In the Superpole session held today, the Turkish rider from ROKiT BMW was the standout performer. Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Ducati) spent the most time in the lead but couldn’t respond when Razgatlioglu completed a lap in 1m32.320s – setting a new WSBK lap record at Misano.
The 2021 champion secured pole position by beating Bulega by 0.236s. Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha) surprised everyone by securing third place, ahead of Alex Lowes (Kawasaki). Álvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Ducati), who is defending the championship lead here, will start from fifth.
Jonathan Rea’s struggles continue. The Pata Prometeon Yamaha rider, who took pole position in the previous round at Assen, could only manage 15th on the grid at Misano.
