The future of Aston Martin in Formula 1, in the hands of Lawrence Stroll, has been the subject of various rumors, speculating about a possible sale in the near future. However, that seems to be off the table at a time when the investment to improve results continues.
The Canadian billionaire assured The New York Times that he has no plans to leave Aston Martin: ‘You don’t spend millions of pounds building the largest new Formula 1 campus and hiring 400 of the best employees if you’re going to leave the business. It couldn’t be further from the truth that I have any interest in not even being the majority shareholder of this team for a long time, and the same goes for the road car company.’
Stroll emphasized that he sees himself at the beginning of a journey both in Aston Martin F1 and in the road car division: ‘I’m not going anywhere. I plan to manage these businesses for many years. I’m at the beginning of the journey in both.’
