The MotoGP rider market is buzzing. Despite few official moves, rumors are getting wild, extending even to the teams themselves, with speculations about potential changes in manufacturers partnerships for some satellite teams.
One team garnering much attention is Pramac, which currently collaborates with Ducati and allegedly has an offer from Yamaha. Other scenarios have also been speculated, and even LCR, a long-time partner of Honda, has been the subject of such rumors.
Lucio Cecchinello, the owner of LCR Honda, was questioned by GPOne.com about whether Yamaha had approached him. While he did not directly confirm the constructor from Iwata, he admitted that contacts were made: ‘It is true that other manufacturers have approached me’.
However, the Italian remains loyal to Honda, which has been LCR’s partner since their debut in MotoGP in 2006: ‘I have always been clear, I have a history with Honda, and I give them priority before negotiating with others’.
