With Liberty Media owning MotoGP, there are many possibilities for more races in the USA. At the moment, only one American circuit is on the MotoGP world championship calendar.
That said, there are rumors that Liberty Media, plus the reinforcement of a new American team on the MotoGP grid, namely the Trackhouse Racing Team – where Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira operates – could join forces and add another American circuit to the calendar in the coming years.
We remember that Laguna Seca was a stage where a lot of history was made over the years, where Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and Marc Márquez provided moments that will forever remain in the memories of MotoGP fans, but which later ended up being removed from the world championship calendar.
According to Paddock.gp, one of the hypotheses that the Americans are considering could be the Indianapolis Speedway, the next American circuit to join the Americas circuit, where Formula 1, owned by Liberty Media, already participates.
For the time being, these are just rumors, but as Dorna and Liberty Media officials have said on several occasions, there is a goal of increasing MotoGP’s worldwide audience and the addition of another GP in the USA would certainly be an asset in this regard.
