Luca Marini joined Repsol Honda in MotoGP this year, with a contract until the end of 2025. After failing to score points in the first five Grands Prix, falling victim to the ongoing struggles of the Japanese manufacturer, rumors began to circulate about his departure after this season.
However, this doesn’t seem to be a scenario on the table for the Italian. According to the Motosan.es website, the rider stated to Nico Abad during an event:
– It’s something that has always been my dream since childhood, to join a factory team and develop a perfect bike to win the title. I will never regret it because it’s the right decision for me, and it was the right decision when I made it. It’s impossible.
Clearly denying the speculation, Marini emphasized: ‘It’s absurd, I don’t know who spread this, but I’ve never been more certain about my relationship with Honda. We are working hard and I am very happy with my current position. I know the results aren’t very good, but if you’re not going to be on the podium, all the positions behind are the same to me. I want to get there, have a complete package that allows me to fight for the title, and that’s what we’re going to try’.
