With one year left on his contract, and secure until the end of 2025, Luca Marini is decided to stay with Honda and happy to take the challenge of helping the brand to overcome a complicated moment. With the good results being hard to show up, some false rumours came to surface a couple of weeks ago, saying the italian was thinking about leaving the brand at the end of 2024, which deserved a comment from the rider.
With those rumours in mind, Marini regretted the false news, in words to La Gazzetta dello Sport and quoted on Motosan, saying: ‘Unfortunately, communicating today is difficult. Many phrases you say are taken out of context, or the stories are actually made up just to make more clicks’.
This is sincerely something that bothers the #10, who openly said that he is always in good mood to have a talk: ‘I don’t like it and I wouldn’t like to get involved in these games. If anyone wants to do an interview or just talk, I’m always available, it’s a pleasure. But spreading stories for specific purposes by certain people makes me angry. I see it very incorrect’.
Marini also made sure to clarify that the environment he is in, at the garage, is very good and that there is constant exchange of information:
– In my box, the environment is incredible. The relationship with Japan is excellent, I respect them a lot. We are doing a great job, even if the results are not visible. But I, from within, perceive them,. I like the respect they have for the riders, how important their word is. I don’t want to say that at Ducati it wasn’t like that; but perhaps because I am on the official team I feel very listened to. The interaction is constant.
