Marc Márquez made the transfer of the year in MotoGP. He left Repsol Honda after a decade to join Gresini in 2024, gaining access to the highly competitive Ducati Desmosedici GP bike.
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna, highlighted to AS newspaper that it’s a decision that demonstrates Márquez’s strong desire to win. He also emphasized the amicable nature of Márquez’s departure from Honda:
– It’s a move that shows the drive to win that a guy has. Marc has such an interest in winning that, despite having a comfortable position at Honda, he decided to change, and there are many things to highlight in this move. Firstly, the understanding from Honda towards a guy who has been so good to them. The goodwill he showed by communicating with Honda, expressing that he is here to race a lot and win everything he can.
