Marc Márquez is eager to turn his luck around at the Red Bull Ring in 2024 after narrowly missing out on three victories in previous seasons. The eight-time world champion, now riding for Gresini Racing, feels confident about his chances, especially with the power of a Ducati beneath him.
“Of course, I lost three victories nearly in a row on the last lap here at the Red Bull Ring,” Márquez reflected. “It is a circuit that I like and a circuit that I normally feel well at.” Despite the familiarity and affinity for the track, he remains aware of the stiff competition ahead.
“Now I am riding the best bike here at the Red Bull Ring, which is the Ducati,” he acknowledged, before adding a dose of realism. “But these three guys are riding the same bike. They are actually faster than me, so I need to keep going, keep pushing, keep learning and let’s see if we will be closer.”
Márquez knows that to finally clinch victory at the Red Bull Ring, he’ll need to continue adapting and refining his approach. The determination is there, and with the right mix of skill and strategy, he hopes 2024 will be the year he overcomes the final-lap heartbreaks of the past.
