Scott Redding, who competed in MotoGP for several years, knows Marc Márquez well, having raced against him. This year, Márquez moved to Gresini and managed to turn around the poor results he had in recent years due to injuries and Honda’s performance decline.
The British rider, currently competing in the World Superbike Championship, expressed his happiness about Márquez’s current form to GPOne.com:
– I’m happy to see him enjoying himself and being himself. I competed against Marc for most of my life, so I know him well. I know his personality, which people never saw when he was with Honda. But now they see it, and it’s great to see him fighting on this bike and being so happy to be there, also because I know what it’s like to be where you don’t want to be but have to be.
After a decade in a factory team, Márquez chose to move to a satellite team with a significantly lower salary. This decision proved to be the right one, earning him a spot with Ducati for 2025. Redding commented: ‘He showed that sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward, and now the official bike is waiting for him’.
