Marcel Schrötter is set to return to Moto2 at the Dutch GP with Red Bull KTM Ajo, stepping back into the intermediate category. He will be replacing Deniz Öncü, who sustained an injury while training about two weeks ago.
According to SPEEDWEEK.com, the German rider will also compete in the German GP, making appearances in the final two rounds before the summer break.
At 31 years old, Schrötter has been competing in the World Supersport Championship since 2022 with MV Agusta – a brand under the same group as KTM. He currently holds fourth place in the championship, having secured four podium finishes this year.
Between 2012 and 2022, the German raced in Moto2, where he experienced moderate success, including podium finishes and even winning a race. His best overall championship results were two eighth-place finishes.
