Jorge Martin confesses that he has a stronger bond with Ducati than with Pramac, raising speculations that he may choose to leave the Pramac MotoGP team at the end of 2024. Since joining MotoGP in 2021, Martin has been part of the Pramac Ducati team, and their collaboration has been highly successful.
If Martin had triumphed in the championship race last season against Francesco Bagnaia, he would have automatically been promoted to Ducati instead of Enea Bastianini. When asked about the possibility of switching to Yamaha or staying with Pramac for the 2025 season, Martin responded to Motorsport.com saying, “This is the first time I’ve heard of this. Currently, I feel more connected with Ducati than with Pramac. It has been like this throughout my MotoGP career. My priority is known. Let’s wait, it’s still early. But I don’t know. I hope to join a factory team. So even if Pramac changes manufacturer, I don’t think I would stay here.”
Last month, Pramac team manager Gino Borsoi hinted that Martin’s time with the team may be coming to an end, stating that “it’s come to a bit of an end,” like it or not. Ducati’s newest signing for 2025 is Moto2 star Fermin Aldeguer, who is set to join Borsoi’s team, and there are rumors that Pramac has a clause in their agreement with Ducati.
According to Motorsport.com, Pramac has been in contact with Yamaha and KTM regarding a possible partnership, which could lead to a separation from Ducati if an agreement is reached.
