Another rider confirmed for the MotoE World Championship. Massimo Roccoli will make his debut in the championship with the Ongetta SIC58 Squadra Corse, joining Kevin Manfredi, who continues for the second consecutive year.
At 39 years old, Roccoli will be one of the most experienced riders on the grid, although it’s his first time in MotoE. In 2022, he competed in the Mugello round, and in 2012, he participated in the Moto2 Italian GP. He has sporadic appearances in the World Superbike Championship and completed several seasons in the World Supersport Championship, in addition to competing in national championships in Italy.
In a press release, the Italian said: ‘I’m very happy to start this new adventure, which certainly represents a great challenge. I’ve known Paolo Simoncelli since the days of Minimoto, when both Marco [Simoncelli] and I took our first steps in the world of motorcycle racing. I am really grateful for the opportunity this challenge represents. I’m excited to work with Marco Grana , whom I consider an excellent crew chief, one of the best. I can’t wait to get on my MotoE’.
