Mercedes-Benz continues to strengthen its electric mobility strategy and has announced the launch of a portable wallbox, called the “Professional Flexible Charging System”, which can be easily transported in the car and which the German brand says is the “perfect integrated charging solution for all electric or hybrid vehicle situations”.
The portable wallbox from Mercedes allows charging with a charging power of up to 22 kW, depending on the availability of the building’s electrical installation, the vehicle’s equipment, and the adapter.
Maximum protection is provided by automatic detection and adjustment of the charging power, as well as temperature detection and overload protection functions.
The various adapters included in the product allow the vehicle to be connected to almost all types of European electrical outlets and public charging stations with a single charging cable.
When traveling abroad, charging with the Professional Flexible Charging System is easy to perform as the corresponding adapters are available for various European countries with their specific electrical outlets.
The new Mercedes charging system is equipped with an energy leakage detection system, is waterproof, and can be installed on a wall using the supplied mounting accessories.
Mercedes has revealed that the Professional Flexible Charging System is compatible with all electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles equipped with a type 2 plug; to be able to charge at maximum power, it is necessary to install a board charger (code 84B) in the vehicle that can charge with a power of up to 22 kW.
In addition, the interface allows for unrestricted use of the WLAN network, thus enabling remote updates without any issues in the client’s communication network. The start and end of the loading process can be conveniently controlled remotely through the remote start/stop function.
