Already out of the title race, Thierry Neuville faces the Central Europe Rally this week, the penultimate round of the World Rally Championship (WRC) season. The event, which passes through three different countries, will be one of the closest to home for the Hyundai driver.
This round will have two particularly significant challenges, in the Belgian’s view: ‘I am looking forward to the Central Europe Rally. It’s good to go to another new event and I think this will certainly be a challenging rally. The weather can be interesting with the possibility of rain and different conditions. I don’t mind. Just like this, the duration will be a challenge, we will have some long days with a different country every day.’
Quoted by the official WRC website, Neuville emphasized that he hopes to have a better performance on asphalt than he did in Croatia: ‘We didn’t feel very comfortable with the car there. We did some work, hopefully the car will be faster.’
