Denny Hamlin has big aspirations for the recently unveiled multimillion-dollar facility of the NASCAR Cup Series racing team, 23XI Racing, co-owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan and NASCAR veteran Bubba Wallace. The mega racing workshop, named Airspeed in honor of the team owners, will serve as the base for all 23XI projects. The name Airspeed combines Jordan’s representation and his iconic Nike sneaker brand with Hamlin’s racing skills. The team itself, called 23XI, pays tribute to Jordan’s dominant days with the Chicago Bulls, where he wore the number 23, and Hamlin’s successful history with Team No:11. The car numbers used by the team also have significance, with one driver using car No:23 as a tribute to Jordan and the other using car No:45, a number closely linked to the Petty family legacy in NASCAR. The new facility is designed to prioritize the team’s mental health, providing a pressure-free environment for expression and productivity. Hamlin believes the new workshop will be a game-changer for both 23XI and NASCAR, setting a new standard and creating more opportunities. The facility is expected to help the team become a championship contender.
