Mini has revealed the new entry-level version of the Countryman, called the “C”, which is equipped with a three-cylinder engine combined with a Mild Hybrid system.
Announced as capable of living up to Mini’s reputation, the new “C” features a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine with 170 hp and a maximum torque of 280 Nm, combined with Mild Hybrid technology that provides an additional 19 hp to support the combustion engine during acceleration.
The power is sent to the front wheels through a dual-clutch automatic transmission that allows for a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 212 km/h, with Mini announcing fuel consumption for this new model of 6.1 l/100 km.
The British brand has also revealed that for the first time, the Countryman is equipped with the Driving Assistant Plus system, which allows for Level 2 semi-autonomous driving, so that the driver can take their hands off the steering wheel on the highway at speeds up to 60 km/h, as long as they keep their attention on the road and are ready to intervene at any time.
It is already known that the new Countryman is 13 cm longer and 8 cm taller than its predecessor. The vertical silhouette with clearly defined surfaces and the redesigned octagonal front grille contribute to the robust appearance of the model.
Still on the exterior, there are black plastic body protections, along with black roof bars and alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 21 inches, available in various designs.
The spacious interior of the new Mini Countryman can accommodate up to five adults, who can enjoy a well-lit cabin thanks to the panoramic glass roof. The standard sports seats with multicolored fabric provide more space for passengers due to an additional 3 cm width in the shoulder and elbow area.
In addition, the rear seat can be moved up to 13 cm, creating additional legroom for passengers. Also worth mentioning is the round OLED screen with 9.5 inches, which functions both as a 100% digital instrument panel and as an infotainment system screen. It is also worth noting the luggage space with a capacity of 450 liters, which can be increased to 1,460 liters with the rear seat folded down.
Mini has also revealed that the new Countryman “C” is available in four trim levels: Essential, Classic, Favored, and JCW. Depending on the trim level, different roof paint colors and various interior finishes are available.
