Mini is one of the most established and famous brands in the world of four wheels. From impressive performances on the track, to beating its opponents in rallies, the little car has made a big name for itself.
And it’s still going strong more than 60 years later, although now under German ownership (BMW), and no longer as “mini” as it once was. However, it continues to manufacture cars, has a fairly wide range and produces both petrol and electric models.
And it’s the electric models and the ownership of the brand through BMW that are at the origin of this news: the CEO of the Mini brand has spoken about the possibility of the company making electric motorcycles, and she doesn’t rule it out.
Ms. Wurst was recently invited to try out the BMW CE 02, and seems to have enjoyed it, writing on LinkedIn “I swapped four wheels for two and jumped on the new all-electric BMW Motorrad CE 02 for a thrilling test ride”, and going on to say “You can see by the smile on my face how much I loved it!”.
She was also asked about the possibility of starting to manufacture two-wheeled vehicles (alongside cars) by the automotive magazine AutoExpress. “If we had to do something, I would look at the family first and I think this is something that interests me… If I have an interest in our markets, this is something I would consider.”
