Misano is already one of the traditional venues for MotoGP, gaining special popularity with Valentino Rossi, who hails from Tavullia, a town near the circuit. It has also carved out its place on the World Superbike calendar.
The current contract with Dorna for both championships expires at the end of 2026, but Misano is already thinking about renewal. The director Andrea Albani talked about the goals in an interview with GPOne.com:
– The renewal with Dorna is our priority, and we are already working to continue our projects. The traditional renewal formula will be 3+2 [years], with the renewal aimed until 2029.
Although it is less prominent in major car racing events, Misano has also secured a new «client» for 2024: the Formula E will hold the Italian round there, in an unusual event on a permanent circuit rather than a city track, as is the spirit of the electric single-seater championship.
