The winner of the Stage 2 of the 2024 Dakar is found: Jose Ignacio Cornejo was the first to take over the 655 km of today’s stage, faster than anyone else.
Nacho Cornejo took 4h23m21s to go from Al Henakiyah to Al Duwadimi, in a stage of 655km in total with 463km of Special, getting to finish with a 6m35s over the second, Luciano Benavides (Huqsvarna).
To close the podium places was Pablo Quintanilla (Honda), crossing the finish line just 13s after Benavides, with Ricky Brabec (Honda) to come in fourth place, in front of Sebastian Bühler (Hero).
Next came Sam Sunderland (GASGAS), with Toby Price (KTM) in seventh. To close the top ten was Joan Barreda (Hero), Skyler Howes and Adrien Van Beveren, from from Honda.
As for the leaderboard, Ross Branch remains on the lead but lost much of his advantage, having now 2m30s to the second best, Nacho Cornejo, with Brabec coming in third.
