Nasser Al-Attiyah begins a new stage in his off-road career by joining Prodrive, under the name Nasser Racing. Accompanied by navigator Mathieu Baumel, he will be in control of the Hunter T1+ and, unlike much of his trajectory, will not be connected to a major car manufacturer.
The Qatari stated in a statement: ‘It is a very special feeling to come to Prodrive, as I have seen over the past three years that the team has worked hard to get where it is now with the Hunter. I am very happy to join the Prodrive team with Mathieu, as I believe it will be one of the strongest in the sport’.
After successes with Volkswagen, MINI, and Toyota, Al-Attiyah made it clear that he now wants to win titles with another manufacturer: ‘Over the years, I have won with three different constructors in Rally-Raid, but winning with a fourth car is a big goal for us. We are really excited’.
