Joan Mir is part of the group of riders who still don’t officially know what the future holds for 2025, but everything suggests that he will continue with the Repsol Honda Team. This is actually your ‘reality’, believes Neil Hodgson, and in fact, the ‘best option’.
The former rider looked at the Spaniard’s reality in terms of his possibilities, as he is in his second year with the Japanese manufacturer and going through many difficulties.
Hodgson went further and explained to TNT Sports that at the moment the option to continue is the best scenario for the former world champion: ‘The reality is, he doesn’t have a better option. That is reality. That’s the risk you take when you sign for Honda. We’ve seen over the past four or five years that it stalls your career’.
The renewal must be exactly what Mir hopes for, and a few weeks ago his continuation at the helm of the Japanese manufacturer was considered certain, a possibility that his manager, Paco Sánchez, would later deny, confirming however that the talks were occurring, and that was #36’s will.
Mir is 18th in the championship at the moment, with 13 points.
