Nicolò Bulega was once again the fastest on the second day of testing for the World Superbike Championship in Jerez. The rookie set the pace by a clear margin, promising to be a a serious contender in the 2024 season.
The Aruba.it Ducati rider was the only one to lap in the 1m37s (1m37.809s) and beat Jonathan Rea (Pata Yamaha) by 0.536s. Scott Redding (Bonovo Action BMW) was third, followed by Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW), and Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven/Ducati), who was the last to stay within the same second as the leader.
Between Razgatlioglu and Iannone, the timesheet shows Stefan Bradl. The Honda test rider was working with the MotoGP RC213V, with the manufacturer taking advantage of the opportunity to conduct several test days throughout the year. The reigning WSBK champion, Álvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Ducati), could only manage the 17th absolute time.
As for the Supersport World Championship riders, Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) was the fastest, beating Can Öncü (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) by a clear 0.336s. Adrián Huertas (Aruba.it Ducati), who led the category yesterday, finished third, 0.554s behind, with the top five closed by the MV Agusta duo: Bahattin Sofuoglu and Marcel Schrötter.
