As yesterday’s WSBK test day at Jerez ended, so it continues: Nicolò Bulega is once again the fastest rider at the Spanish circuit with just under three and a half hours to go. Jonathan Rea and Toprak Razgatlioglu, both with a new team, are in good form and round off the top three.
The rookie, the 2023 WSSP champion, is making a big impact with the Ducati for the time being and just as he did yesterday, today he doesn’t seem to be slowing down and remains in the lead of the tests, with a lap of 1:37.809s, already better than yesterday’s time of 1:38.292s.
Behind the Italian, 0.536s off the pace, is Rea, who will be racing with Yamaha this year after many titles with Kawasaki. The adaptation seems to be going well for the Briton, who is 0.293s behind another former world champion, Razgatlioglu, in a similar situation with BMW.
Stefan Bradl (MotoGP/Honda) is fourth overall and the only rider on a MotoGP bike, with Andrea Iannone also in very good form as he returns to the motorbike world championships after a four-year absence, penalised after a positive doping test.
Danilo Petrucci is fifth among the WSBK riders, even ahead of Álvaro Bautista – the reigning champion – who is 11th.
Among the WSSP riders, the standout is Stefanzo Manzi (23rd overall), with Can Oncu and Adrien Huertas completing the top three.
Here’s the overall standings with 3h30 hours to go:
