Tosha Schareina was forced to retire from the Dakar 2024 this Saturday during the first stage. The rider was defending the lead after winning the prologue yesterday.
It was at kilometer 240 of the special stage that the Monster Energy Honda Spanish rider suffered a crash, injuring his arm. Ross Branch, who was the fastest at the time, stopped to assist him, and the time lost will be deducted at the end.
Later, Schareina was evacuated from the site by the medical team, leading to his retirement. This was the rider’s third participation in the Dakar – the first in a factory team.
