In the second round of the season, Toni Bou secured his second victory in the X-Trial series. This Friday night, the Repsol Honda rider emerged victorious in Chalon-sur-Saône (France).
Since the first round, the Spaniard has been leading the pack: he accumulated just one penalty point, besides being the fastest by a clear margin. In the second round, he incurred no penalties and maintained his lead, although he was not the fastest, thus finishing the first two rounds in first place with just one point – compared to Jaime Busto’s ten (GasGas).
In the final, which also featured Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Team/Montesa), Busto accrued seven penalty points, but it was more than enough to secure the win: Marcelli finished second with 17 points, while Busto ended up in third with 22 penalty points.
With the victory in this round held in France, Bou leads the championship with the maximum possible points at this stage – 44 points. Marcelli is second with 27 points, the same as Busto.
