The end of the 2023 MotoGP season was not easy for the Aprilia satellite team. RNF seemed to have an uncertain future after all the controversy with CryptoDATA – with speculation intensifying on the sidelines of the final round in Valencia. Miguel Oliveira, injured, was following the situation from home.
After the Valencia round, the acquisition by Trackhouse Racing, led by Justin Marks, was confirmed – ensuring a solid future. The Portuguese rider now recalled how it was to follow the situation without being present at the location: ‘I can’t imagine for the guys on track, because I was just trying to catch up everything from home. But nobody really knew what was going on until everything was out on Monday. So it was quite a surprise, but I have to say it was a nice one’.
According to Oliveira, Marks immediately left him with a positive impression of the project, now hoping to repay with results: ‘When we met in Lisbon I got a really good idea of he wants in the near future for the team and for the whole project and for his brand. And I have to say it’s a good place to be. Hopefully everything will be in a good way in terms of performance for us and payback with results. That’s what I hope’.
