Lando Norris, the British driver from McLaren, believes that the speed of Red Bull and Ferrari makes it impossible for him to compete for a place on the podium at the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix. Despite starting the race in fourth place on the grid, behind the Red Bull and Aston Martin drivers, and ahead of the Ferrari drivers, Norris does not have high hopes of finishing among the top three. He acknowledges that it is likely that the Red Bulls will overtake everyone several times and that Ferrari, although not as fast as the Red Bulls, will still be close enough to be out of McLaren’s league. Norris does not expect any surprises and acknowledges that McLaren struggles with high fuel. However, he remains optimistic and believes that McLaren can still have a good race, fight for valuable points, and potentially have a successful day if they are lucky. Despite the challenges, Norris sees the qualifying result as a positive outcome for McLaren, positioning them well against their expected rivals, Mercedes and Aston Martin. He predicts a battle with Aston Martin and Mercedes during the race and feels that McLaren’s pace is comparable to theirs. However, he acknowledges that Red Bull is significantly ahead and Ferrari is also at a considerable distance from McLaren. Overall, Norris believes that McLaren is in a decent position and is hopeful for a competitive race.
