The end of the first part of the season was not positive for Jorge Martín. After winning the Sprint race at the German GP, in the main race he made a mistake and crashed on the penultimate lap while leading. As a result, the Prima Pramac rider not only lost a possible victory but also the championship lead, being overtaken by Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who ended up winning the Sachsenring race.
Óscar Haro commented on Nico Abad’s YouTube channel that it will be a difficult moment for Martín, particularly considering the summer break, but he believes that the 2023 runner-up will handle it well:
– If there is someone who amazed me last year with his physical and psychological integrity, it was Jorge Martín. Now it’s difficult, you go on holidays and all you want is to get back on the bike to redeem yourself. The bad thing is that he lost the lead and knows that things are getting complicated, but I think he will manage it and turn it to his advantage.
After nine rounds, everything is still open in the MotoGP World Championship. Despite having six victories, four of them consecutive, Bagnaia is only ten points ahead of Martín, so nothing is decided despite the events of the German GP.
