Miguel Oliveira has been at the epicentre of the latest news in the MotoGP market, with Honda already approaching the rider about the possibility of having him for 2024, something he confirmed today in Indonesia. Commenting on the subject, Oliveira recalled that ‘unprecedented’ things have been happening in MotoGP lately, and admitted what an honour it is to be associated with a seat for the prestigious brand.
In Mandalika, a place of fond memory for the #88, already preparing for the next round of the world championship, Oliveira didn’t shy away from the journalists’ questions about the latest news and reacted to the rumours in this way: ‘I think this season we have seen a lot of unprecedented things: we’ve seen riders put at home under contract, we’ve seen riders breaking contracts and go to another place, so anything is possible’.
Without saying too much on the subject, Oliveira confirmed the ‘approach’ and emphasised that being interested by a company as important and historic as Honda is something that makes him very happy, but he guaranteed that he had never thought about… changing:
– It’s true that it’s a pleasure to be considered to by another manufacturer, especially one as big as Honda, especially when is a factory seat to offer. That’s it. As I told you, I don’t have, didn’t have it in my mind to change, but if… there’s nothing on the table yet, there is just an approach, but nothing concrete.
