GNR revealed that in the last 24 hours it arrested 81 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol, 35 of whom had blood alcohol levels considered a crime. In addition, 27 people were also arrested for driving without a license.
In a statement, GNR reveals that in the last 24 hours of Operation Christmas, which started on the 15th of last month, “9256 drivers were inspected and 2142 infractions were detected, including 726 for speeding, 200 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 76 for lack or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint systems, 60 for improper use of mobile phones while driving, and 54 for lack of mandatory civil liability insurance.”
GNR also indicated that there were 270 accidents, resulting in four serious injuries and 80 minor injuries.
