The Portuguese Automobile Association (ACAP) revealed this Tuesday that in the month of November, 8,843 new electric, plug-in, and electric hybrid passenger cars were registered in Portugal, which represents an increase of 60.2% compared to the same period last year.
Globally, in the first eleven months of 2023, there was a 104% increase in new electric passenger cars compared to the same period last year, with 32,433 units registered.
The ACAP statement also states that in November, there was an 89.2% increase in the market for electrified passenger cars compared to the same month in 2022, with 4,061 units registered.
As for light commercial vehicles, the market for electric, plug-in, and electric hybrid vehicles saw a positive growth of 68.5% in the penultimate month of 2023 compared to the same month last year, with 182 registered units.
In cumulative terms, this market reached 2,205 units, representing a growth of 182.7% compared to the same period in 2022.
On the other hand, the market for heavy vehicles, which includes passenger and commercial types, saw a growth of 1,000% in November compared to the same period in 2022, with 33 new electric heavy vehicles registered.
