Francesco Bagnaia is in a tight battle for the MotoGP title with Jorge Martín (Prima Pramac/Ducati), with both separated by 13 points at the top with three rounds to go. Álex Crivillé believes that even though he’s in the lead, the Italian Ducati rider is far from having an easy time.
Speaking to Marca, the former rider commented: ‘Pecco, who remains in the lead, is not in an easy situation to manage, as he must defend his position at all costs, and perhaps this can change a rider’s mentality. He pushed the tire too hard during an intense start to the race, and that penalized him in the latter part of the race’.
In Crivillé’s opinion, Bagnaia managed the risks and kept his calm in the race: ‘In any case, I think he knew how to keep his cool and not take more risks than necessary. Although, if we look at the attempt to overtake on the outside, it may seem the opposite. It’s crazy!’.
