Pedro Acosta is one of several riders complaining about chatter on the bike. The issue cuts across more than one manufacturer, and the rookie believes it’s something the tyre supplier should consider.
After the Spanish GP, the Spaniard stated: ‘At the end I think it’s something that Michelin needs to think about, because other manufacturers are also talking about this. We have from the first moment that I jumped on the bike in Malaysia’.
According to Acosta, the vibration problem is strange because it’s difficult to pinpoint the cause: ‘It’s something strange, because doesn’t come from the shock and doesn’t come from the bike. For this is quite difficult to understand from where it’s coming and also to solve or to avoid the problem’.
In Jerez, the rookie raced with a medium tyre and experienced chatter, while in Austin, the problem occurred with a soft tyre, as he stated: ‘In the Sprint race [in Austin] with the soft tyre, but in Jerez race was with the medium and not with the soft. For this is quite tricky to understand from where is coming’.
