The second day of the MotoGP Shakedown at Sepang has come to a close, with many more new riders on track today, and with news of the fastest rider on track: Pol Espargaró.
After the first day saw only the test riders on track, plus rookie Pedro Acosta, today saw some of the main riders from the manufacturers who are also benefiting from concessions – such as Yamaha and Honda – in action.
Pol Espargaró was the fastest on track with a lap of 1’58.241s, with Fabio Quartararo 0.283s behind and Pedro Acosta 0.29s off the day’s leader.
Álex Rins, on his first day on the 2024 M1, was fourth, ahead of yesterday’s leader Dani Pedrosa.
Joan Mir was sixth, ahead of ex-Pramac rider Johann Zarco, with Luca Marini eighth, ahead of the most experienced RC213V rider, Takaaki Nakagami. Stefan Bradl rounded off the top ten.
