Porsche announced that it will start integrating the Google operating system into its future models, allowing its customers to have access to applications such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and others currently available on the Play Store.
The German brand mentioned that the system will continue to use the familiar user interface of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, including regular online updates to keep the PCM system up to date. The main advantages of integrating the Google operating system are in terms of voice commands, navigation system, and use of the Google search engine.
“Our customers fulfill a dream with our vehicles. In addition to the timeless design and exceptional performance, they also desire a seamless digital experience. This mixed ecosystem results from the integration of platforms and applications that customers are familiar with from their end devices,” emphasized Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche AG.
