The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT will be the new safety car of the Formula E, in the double header in Berlin, which will take place next weekend, May 11th and 12th. The most powerful production Porsche of all time will take on the role of safety car in the world championship of fully electric single-seaters.
The new Taycan was presented in March as the most powerful production Porsche of all time, setting record lap times at Nürburgring and Laguna Seca.
Equipped with the optional Weissach package, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT achieves an impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.2 seconds and a remarkable top speed of 305 km/h.
This is thanks to the 788 hp of power from the two electric motors, which in “overboost” mode reach 1033 hp or even 1108 hp for two seconds, and a torque that rises to an impressive 1340 Nm.
Experienced Portuguese driver Bruno Correia will have the mission of taking the wheel of the new Formula E safety car.
