The Portuguese Air Force has announced the acquisition of 11 Citroën AMI vehicles that will be used as “follow me” vehicles to support aircraft maneuvers at aerodromes.
With this acquisition, the Air Force states that it takes “another step in the strategic commitment related to sustainability and innovation, with environmental sustainability being a priority”.
It should be noted that the Portuguese Air Force is among the pioneering public institutions in launching the first Carbon Neutrality Roadmap, which the institution has set as a goal to achieve by 2050.
The acquisition of new 100% electric vehicles aims to “ensure that operations are aligned with the highest environmental protection requirements. At the same time, these vehicles will be essential for supporting aerial activity, providing efficient and sustainable mobility in various operational units”.
