Last week, it was announced that Prima Pramac Racing will switch from Ducati to Yamaha in MotoGP starting in 2025, which leaves a factory Ducati bike available for a satellite team. The Pertamina Enduro VR46 team has expressed interest in acquiring it.
While Pramac has been provided with two units of the latest version of the Desmosedici GP by the Borgo Panigale constructor, starting in 2025, only one unit will be supplied, as confirmed by general manager Gigi Dall’Igna to Sky Sport Italia. Therefore, Gresini or VR46 can only aim to have one factory bike in 2025, with the other being a current-year model.
A source from VR46 informed Crash.net that they are working towards securing the GP25: ‘That’s the target and what we are working for’.
Valentino Rossi’s team has yet to finalize its riders. It is known that Marco Bezzecchi will move to Aprilia, leaving at least one spot open. The future of Fabio Di Giannantonio remains uncertain as he is at the end of his contract, but the Italian has shown strong performance on the track, making a case to continue with the team.
