The urban backdrop of Long Beach served as a dramatic setting for an exciting qualifying session in the world of IndyCar racing. Felix Rosenqvist of Meyer Shank Racing made history by securing the team’s first official pole position in IndyCar.
Rosenqvist narrowly edged out Will Power by just 0.004 seconds, with both drivers expressing satisfaction in their final laps, believing they had achieved the fastest possible times.
Josef Newgarden claimed the third fastest time, lining up alongside Colton Herta on the starting grid for Sunday’s race.
Notably, some of the typically high-performing drivers in the series, such as Pato O’Ward and Alexander Rossi, faced unfortunate setbacks and failed to advance beyond the initial qualifying round.
The highly anticipated Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, consisting of 85 laps, will kick off on Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm Pacific time and 3:30pm Eastern time.
