After just one season with Tech3, Raúl Fernández joined RNF last year for what was his second season in MotoGP. Therefore, he had to adapt again to a different team and a different bike, a task made difficult not only by the introduction of the Sprint race format but also by a arm pump issue.
For this reason, the first months of 2023 were tough for the Spaniard, before a notable progress, as he mentioned on Adriianef’s Twitch channel: ‘It started to accumulate, and in the second part of the year, we showed that the level had really risen. Day by day, we were very consistent, and above all, I started to enjoy the bike again, things were working out. I had an extraordinary human team behind me, tireless, and I’m super grateful to all of them for never stopping believing’.
Now, in 2024, by staying with Trackhouse Racing which is the direct successor of RNF, Fernández will have a stability he has never had, emphasizing the importance of it: ‘For the next season, it will be something beautiful because starting with a base, with your same team, with the same bike, I don’t think I’ve ever done this in my sporting career. It will be the first year in which I do two consecutive years with the same people, with the same brand, and in the same category. This is important to me too’.
