Next year, Raúl Fernández will face a new situation in MotoGP. The rider is entering his fourth season and will continue with Trackhouse Racing, where he will team up with rookie Ai Ogura.
When asked how he feels about potentially taking on a leadership role, the Spaniard replied: ‘I don’t know. I think it will be a different situation for me, because it’s true that now I feel that I am still understanding the category. For me especially the first year in MotoGP was not easy. Now it’s quite different, but also my situation is quite different because now I have a really good team, I believe a lot in me, I see what I can do. I am in a different situation’.
Regardless of who his teammate is or their level of experience, Fernández emphasized that the goal remains the same: ‘For everybody it doesn’t matter who is your teammate, you want to win. The first thing in the championship is trying to be in front of your teammate – it doesn’t matter if he has experience or not. And this is my target for this year, for the next year, and for all the years that I am in MotoGP’.
The #25 added: ‘They will also change a bit the situation, but for me this year will change a little bit, because I feel I will be a little bit stronger in Aprilia side to try to help them to improve the project’.
