Just a little after his return to MotoGP, Davide Brivio is already set to shake things up inside the garage of Trackhouse Racing, according to the international press, who reports the desire of the Team boss to reunite two riders with whom he worked in the past at the category.
Rumours point to a possible desire for Brivio to bring to the american team Joan Mir and Álex Rins, as both riders are struggling in their current teams, Honda and Yamaha and this couldn’t be just a rumour as, according to Motosprint, the ‘contacts between the parties’ could already ‘have been initiated’.
If that is so, and only after five rounds in this season’s MotoGP it could mean that Miguel Oliveira, already a MotoGP race winner, and Raul Fernández seats are at risk but in the end, it will all depend first than anything else on what Aprilia will decide regarding the future of their duo, Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales, as both also aren’t secured for 2025.
Other than Mir and Rins, Joe Roberts (Moto2) was already set to be aspiring to get a promotion for the main category as he is an american that could be riding with an american team.
Oliveira and Fernández are still struggling to show their best but both are showing first of improvements and there aren’t that many riders who won more, or more than one race, at the current paddock, so it seems unlikely that Aprilia is ready to «give» the portuguese away while Rins also still has a one year contract left with Yamaha and the Noale manufacturer still has this ‘old’ desire of having Enea Bastianini, currently fighting for a factory seat at Ducati for 2025.
Whatever happens is almost certain that Trackhouse Racing will make some changes for 2025 and both of their riders still don’t have a contract and the biggest majority of MotoGP riders on the grid at in the same situation but Davide Brivio is a strong force within the grid and had in Mir a MotoGP winner a couple of years back and their relationship was always very strong.
It’s time to wait and see how the situation develops.
