Audi has decided to renew the S3 in both the Limousine version and the Sportback variant, equipping both models with more power and technology.
As a result, the renewed S3 comes with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder TFSI gasoline engine from the VW Group, which has been revised to deliver a power of 333 hp and 420 Nm, which is 23 hp and 20 Nm more than its predecessor.
In addition, the seven-speed automatic transmission has been improved to reduce the time between gear changes by half. The new model also features the same torque splitter as the RS 3, allowing for fully variable torque distribution between the rear wheels.
Audi announces that the renewed S3 is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds and reaching a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Audi has also added a new driving mode, Dynamic Plus, which forces the maximum torque to be sent to the rear axle, specifically to the wheel on the outside of a curve. Additionally, this driving mode allows for increased responsiveness to accelerator pedal inputs.
Other changes include larger brake discs, with 357 mm at the front, with two-piston calipers, adjustments to the progressive steering system, and new suspension arms with stiffer pivot bearings that allow for a more negative wheel camber.
Furthermore, the S sport suspension is now included as standard equipment, allowing for a 15 mm reduction in ground clearance compared to the A3. The updated S3 comes standard with 18’’ wheels, and optional 19’’ wheels are also available.
Aesthetically, the renewed S3 features a new “singleframe” grille, with side air intakes, along with redesigned LED and LED Matrix headlights, a renewed front spoiler, and 24-pixel daytime running lights with four selectable “signatures.” In the rear, the redesigned bumper stands out, specific to the S models, and four round exhaust pipes, optionally available with a titanium silencer. In the interior, the S3 presents a new design for the gear shift lever, new ventilation outlets, ambient lighting, and new backlit panels covered in fabric on the front doors and carbon fiber accents.Audi has already announced that the revamped S3 will be available from the second quarter of 2024 in Sportback and Limousine body styles, but has not yet revealed the prices of the two versions.
