Riccardo Rossi is the newest addition to the CIP Green Power team in the Moto3 World Championship. In September, the rider had been announced to join CFMoto PrüstelGP, but with the team’s dissolution, he had to find another place to continue his career. This is a change of plans for CIP Green Power, which had previously announced Noah Detwiller and Lorenzo Fellon, with the latter stepping aside to make room for Rossi.
Currently 21 years old, Rossi competed in the last two seasons with SIC58 Squadra Corse riding a Honda. Now, with CIP Green Power, he will be riding a KTM — similar to his tenure in 2020 and 2021 with BOE Motorsports. Rossi has five full seasons in Moto3, with two third-place finishes as his best results to date.
The Italian said in a press release: ‘I’m very happy to have signed with CIP Green Power and to return to KTM for 2024. Last season I suffered a lot with Honda, because KTM was faster on some race tracks. I’m also happy with the new Pirelli tyres that I tried in Barcelona tests, and this is further motivation for me. I can’t wait to start the 2024 season and I will work hard in the pre-season, in order to be able to be competitive from the first race’.
Regarding the team’s owner, Alain Bronec commented: ‘We are very happy to welcome Riccardo to our team for this new season in Moto3. He’s a rider who has already set his highlights in this category, and we’re going to do everything we can to help him continue to progress. I have a feeling that he can put in some great performances this year’.
