RNF Racing remains adamant about losing its place in the MotoGP lineup – having been succeeded by Trackhouse Racing this year.
In a statement issued this Thursday, the UK-based team alleges ‘breaches of contractual obligations and engagement in anti-competitive practices’ with ‘severe’ damages to its operations and reputation.
The accusations go on: ‘Despite repeated attempts to address these issues through dialogue, Dorna and IRTA have consistently failed to meet their financial commitments and have engaged in actions that constitute an abuse of power and a breach of competition law. These actions have not only resulted in significant financial losses for our company but have also aimed to undermine our competitive position and reputation in the industry’.
The entity led by Ovidiu Toma claims to have gathered ‘substantial evidence’ of Dorna and IRTA’s ‘abusive behavior’, as well as ‘disregard for lawful agreements’, exposing the case to the ‘relevant competition authorities‘. The statement further informs that RNF is ‘prepared to pursue all legal avenues to seek’ compensation for the damages caused.
For the company, it is not only about defending its own interests, ‘but also to highlight the importance of fair competition and integrity within the sports and business communities’.
