Aprilia presented its bike for the 2024 MotoGP season this Sunday, and the RS-GP features many new components. The Noale-based manufacturer wants to make new steps to get even closer to the title fight and the work done is noticeable.
During the launch event, technical director Romano Albestiano explained the differences on the bike: ‘There are a lot of differences. You see immediatly the different front wing concept; the aero concept is the most evident part of the development – especially the rear. There was a lot of thinking about this rear and is a totally new concept. But also the frame, the chassis is new, the swingarm is new, many transmission and engine components, electronics. So there are a lot of new parts on this bike’.
Approached to highlight a special feature of the new RS-GP, Albesiano replied: ‘The aerodynamic study is really advanced. We all are constantly looking for more aero load, but not only aero load on straight – also the very complex aerodynamic flow when the bike is cornering. So it’s a very complicated aero concept and we are really proud of these new things that we are testing in these winter tests. And it’s something really exciting we are bringing every year’.
