Joan Mir’s MotoGP season has come to an end. Following a severe crash in yesterday’s first free practice, the rider underwent examinations, resulting in the decision to withdraw from the remainder of the season’s final round at Valencia.
Yesterday, the 2020 champion had visited the medical center after the accident and was declared unfit for the afternoon practice but was not ruled out for the rest of the GP program. However, this morning, Repsol Honda confirmed that Mir will now rest, aiming for Tuesday’s test:
– Following his medical check and after consulting with the team this morning, Joan Mir will not participate in the Valencia GP. He will now focus on recovering and preparing for the test on Tuesday.
Mir was declared unfit by the championship’s medical team due to neck pain, despite not having any fractures.
