Recently, Sebastian Vettel returned to the track, testing the Porsche LMDh. The driver is being speculated as one of the manufacturer’s “weapons” for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, but what is not in his plans is to return to compete in Formula 1.
The four-time world champion left the premier category at the end of 2022 and, quoted by Bild, he assured that he does not think about returning: ‘There is a lot happening right now, on and off the track. But Formula 1 is not a matter for me at the moment’.
Although he does not rule out returning to motor racing, refusing to completely close the door, Vettel emphasized that he never intended to just take a break: ‘The intention was never for me to stop and then start again’.
Currently 36 years old, the German has already started a family and confessed to RTL that his own children have sometimes asked him not to go to the races. That said, he emphasized: ‘Perhaps the disposition will change again, but at the moment things are still going very well’.
