In recent seasons, Ducati has had eight bikes in MotoGP – two from the factory team and six distributed among satellite teams Gresini, Pertamina Enduro VR46, and Prima Pramac Racing – which will partner with Yamaha starting in 2025.
This change means there will be two fewer Desmosedici GPs on the grid next year. However, this reduction does not concern Ducati Corse General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna, who stated to Sky Sport Italia:
– For sure six bikes are enough to continue doing our work at the highest level. I would prefer eight, but with six, you can maintain your performance. The problem is that we were capable of having a solution with eight bikes without neglecting anyone.
The Italian added: ‘Probably, we would have worked better with the others from an organizational standpoint to be able to manage those eight bikes. I think we will also do well with six’.
