After revealing the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo, destined for the virtual world, the Czech brand has now shown the first designs of the Enyaq RS Race, with which the brand aims to explore new possibilities for sustainability in motorsport, while further increasing the emotional appeal of the brand.
Based on the Enyaq Coupé RS, the new Enyaq RS Race features an aggressive design with a focus on a huge rear wing, which Skoda says provides the necessary downforce, a generously sized diffuser, and wider wheel arches housing huge rims.
At the front, Skoda says there are aerodynamic modifications inspired by the Fabia RS Rally2, but has not revealed technical details about the mechanics of this Enyaq RS Race, which is expected to become a reality soon.
“The Skoda Enyaq RS Race is not a design study that will only stay on paper, it will be a real car. It will be lower, wider, lighter, and, most importantly, more dynamic. Therefore, it was clear from the beginning that the design had to be aggressive and have a strong competition DNA. Looking at the aerodynamics, the Enyaq RS Race was designed similarly to the current Fabia RS Rally2. It has a well-sculpted nose, dramatically widened fenders, and a huge rear wing. It looks fast, even on paper, and is always a good start,” emphasized Daniel Petr, senior designer at Skoda.
